This includes
- passive and active solar design
- energy efficient design, detailing and choice of materials
- use of recycled timbers and recycling in general

- energy modelling
- low/non-toxic healthy building design
Projects with an emphasis on solar design and ESD include: Walford Terraces public housing, Hobart; Thalia - private residence East Coast Tasmania; The James House Greenhouse, California, and many more.
At 82 Warwick Street, Hobart, our own place of work, we have recycled the old Halls Machinery Building by inserting conference room , library/staff room and work stations into the open volume workshop at Street level. Print area and archival storage occur at lower ground level. The building demonstrates our commitment to sustainability in design practice.
