Public buildings
Public buildings by morrison & breytenbach architects establish a relationship with their broader context being designed to interact and impact positively beyond their extremeties.
Port Arthur Jetty Shelter provides far more than waiting and toilet amenities for visitors arriving and leaving the historic site by ferry. It is:
- a place of arrival and orientation with strong visual connections to the historic site
- a place for pause, contemplation and reflection before and after the visit
- a contemporary aesthetic that complements rather than competes with the ruins
- a form evocative of the humble boatshed
The UTAS Student Residences designed by morrison & breytenbach architects in association with BPSM Architects
- establishes an axial pedestrian link between the main campus and the upper campus where the residences are located
- utilizes planted courtyards to link into the surrounding natural landscape and vegetation of Mount Nelson
enriching lives, enriching place
